Eldred McClean Counseling Center
Wordpress Website
A local non-profit business providing professional counseling to individuals and families needing a brand new functional website.
Objective
The client requested a new WordPress site due to their pre-existing site malfunctioning and lacking specific design aspects that the client found necessary to perform successfully. My husband and I worked closely together planning, coding and designing the frontend features. It was essential for the site to be as cost-effective as possible and this led to customizing css code in place of upgrading to WordPress's premium services. For instance, one adjustment the client preferred was a fixed navagation menu that followed the viewer down the screen as they scrolled. This brought some challenges since WordPress would not allow this change without upgrading to their premium service. After some opposition, I was excited to learn that there was a way to add code without disrupting the site's theme. When creating the wireframe, I highlighted key elements that I felt would make a strong website for this company. I mapped out a one-page structure with fluid transitions, a consistent color and font scheme, responsive design, visual hierarchy, and thoughtfully picked out stock images. All of these details allow for an easy and pleasant user experience.
